Covid-19 Testing
A note from our CEO and President Tomislav Mihaljevic, MD Testing is a critical part of the strategy for containing COVID-19. Here are the latest updates on access to testing at Cleveland Clinic. Being able to test people for COVID-19 is critical — and, thankfully, we are now able to test many more people for the virus than when this pandemic first started. It’s been a journey and we continue looking for ways to balance meeting our communities’ testing needs with the limited resources currently available. Currently, if you have symptoms and meet specific testing criteria, you can be tested for COVID-19 at one of our locations. Anyone having a surgery or procedure at Cleveland Clinic will also be tested. The process for getting tested if you have symptoms depends on which of our testing sites you plan to visit. In Northeast Ohio At most Northeast Ohio Cleveland Clinic testing locations, testing is available for anyone who: Has COVID-19 symptoms, Has been evaluated by a clinician using Cleveland Clinic Express Care Online or in-person, and Has an electronic doctor’s order. At Akron General and Union Hospitals, our testing remains focused on high-risk individuals with symptoms. These hospitals are working to expand testing in the near future. If you’ve received an electronic doctor’s order for a COVID-19 test, you can now schedule a testing appointment using the MyChart website or mobile app. You can also schedule it during your visit with the provider who orders the test. More details on testing eligibility, locations, hours and appointments are available on our website. In Florida You will need to make an appointment for all testing at our Florida locations. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, start by calling the appropriate triage hotline (you can find your nearest location’s hotline phone number on our website) to speak to a nurse. If you meet the criteria for testing, an appointment will be scheduled and you’ll be directed to a testing site. At Cleveland Clinic Weston, anyone over the age of 16 who has COVID-19 systems is eligible for testing. At Cleveland Clinic Martin Health and Cleveland Clinic Indian River, anyone over the age of 5 who has COVID-19 symptoms is eligible for testing. We will keep you updated as we work to further expand COVID-19 testing in our communities. As always, we hope you will continue your efforts to keep yourself and others safe and help curb the spread of COVID-19. Your actions matter, and we thank you for staying vigilant.
